Mac's Tavern

"I wish I was writing this review to be great but unfortunately this isn't the case. My husband and I got food from here . I got an order to go which was the taco salad the portion size was great but the taste not so much. Their was no flavor to the beef salsa was mid and the lettuce tasted wet and old . I barley had any tomatoes or cheese . I'm a sucker for a good taco salad but this was plain Jane again I was hoping to have a better experience considering this was my first time ordering food from this place."

"Mac's Tavern is like an old school pub. Lots of locals patron here. Food is great. Service is always good, even when there are crowds during live music events. And I have never had an issue with food. Always delicious and hot."

"Got some take out from here a few weeks ago. For a handful of things. Started out with the Mac's Sampler. It's a great starter with the wings coming with a delicious buffalo sauce, the garlic cheese curds go down extremely fast, the mozzarella sticks were good (not mind blowing, but good) and the mini corn dogs are really tasty. Also got the loaded tots, which I feel like tator tots are hard to mess up, which they didn't. Very good with the additional toppings. I got the tuna melt, which to be honest tasted fine, but could be made by anyone and have the same outcome. Don't know why I got it to be honest, with the side of potato salad which was creamy. I got the Reuben sandwich with a side of the coleslaw. Which the Reuben was incredible, love some good corned beef. The coleslaw was out of this world though. It's so hard to come by good coleslaw and they do it right here. Lastly I got the Black Jack Burger, which honestly was kind of mediocre. Wasn't a lot going on with the burger. Overall a decent bar."

"Tried Mac's while working late in downtown raleigh. They had a decent late-night menu. Service was good. The food was ok! Maybe it's better early in the day or night. Seem a like a local bar. Few drafts on tap. Also, some bottle and can beer available, too ."

"Great bar food, up scale dive bar. Pool tables could be better, but over all nice fun lowkey place with a dash of ratchetness here and there."

"Food was very good. Caesar salad , I will pass next the next time. Our waitress , brought us are food. We never seen her again till she brought us are check. Would have loved to had some mayo I had asked for on my burger."

"I've loved Mac's since I was bartending in Cary years ago. SAMPLERS4LIFE!! This visit was just to grab some dogs and a beer instead of my normal Shots! Shots! Shots! visit. Solid dog and probably one of the best non hot dog joint dogs out there. Slaw is real good and chili was great."
